The main campus at Kootenai Health is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and includes a 292-bed community-owned hospital.

American College of Radiology Accreditation | View Site
Kootenai Outpatient Imaging is one of 300 facilities in the U.S. to be designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). To earn this designation, Kootenai's breast imaging services have been fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.
Kootenai Outpatient Imaging was also commended in peer-review evaluations conducted by physicians and medical physicists, which noted high practice standards for image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.

Kootenai Clinic's Cancer Services received CoC accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a result of a successful demonstration by the center that patients have access to the full scope of services required for diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and support.

The EEG Laboratory in Neurodiagnostics Services at Kootenai Health received this accreditation in 2007. Kootenai represents the 22nd facility in the nation and the only group in the Northwest to receive this distinction.

Each year, the Ohio-based group evaluates 3,000 hospitals nationwide and awards each a Community Value Index score. The score is composed of ten measures that assess a hospital’s performance in four areas: financial viability and plant reinvestment, hospital cost structure, hospital charge structure, hospital quality performance. Kootenai’s score was ranked in the top 20 percent of surveyed hospitals, and of the 3,000 hospitals evaluated Kootenai’s score was in the top 100.

Benefits are a valuable part of our employee’s compensation package. We are proud to provide a wide variety of benefit options and programs to ensure good health.
Benefit Eligibility
Part-time and full-time employees that work at least 40 hours per pay period are eligible for benefits to be effective the first of the month following 2 months of employment. For full-time employees (72-80 hours per pay period) Kootenai Health pays 100% of the insurance premiums for Employee Medical/RX, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability and the Employee Assistance Program. Part-time employees receive the same benefits with a small payroll deduction for the medical plan. Employees may cover eligible dependents (Legal spouse, natural, step or adopted child) with pre-tax deductions through payroll.
Medical and Prescription Insurance
Coverage is through Blue Cross of Idaho and employees can choose between two plan options. Employees may be eligible to earn a deposit to an HRA/VEBA account from Kootenai Health, based on their effective date and participation in the My Health Employee Wellness program.
Vision Insurance
Vision coverage is provided by VSP. Coverage may be purchased for eligible dependents.
Dental Insurance
Employees choose between two dental insurance providers - Delta Dental of Idaho or Willamette Dental Group. Coverage may be purchased for eligible dependents.
Life Insurance
Employees are covered for one times their annual earnings, to a maximum of $125,000, for both Life Insurance and Accidental Death. Additional coverage, as well as dependent coverage, can be purchased by the employee.
Long-Term Disability
Kootenai Health provides long-term disability coverage. Disability is paid at 60% of pre-disability income. Payments begin after 90 days of disability. Pre-existing conditions are not covered in the first year.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Employees and their dependents have access to short-term, confidential counseling through the EAP.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Employees can set aside pre-tax funds to pay for certain expenses including eligible unreimbursed medical expenses, dependent day care or transportation costs.
457 Employee Investment Plan
The retirement plan through Fidelity provides employees with the opportunity to save for retirement with either pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) contributions. After one year, Kootenai Health will match contributions based on years of service, ranging from a 3% to 6% match. In addition, Kootenai Health provides a Defined Contribution of 2% of gross salary after two years of employment. There is a vesting schedule for Kootenai Health contributions.
Paid-Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave (EIB)
Employees begin accruing PTO and EIB immediately. Accrual is based on hours worked.
