Denver Health (DH) is an integrated, public safety net institution and an academic health system which includes a 525 bed acute care hospital, community health centers, school-based health clinics, public health, non-medical detoxification unit, call centers, the 911 system and an HMO. DH has been in the forefront of work process redesign using LEAN methodology.
Company History
Denver Health, formerly known as Denver General, was established in Denver in 1860. In 1997 it separated from the city and became Denver Health and Hospital Authority. In the ensuing decade, the system became a highly efficient major Colorado business. Denver Health, the state’s largest safety net health care system, is an essential health care provider and a major corporate contributor to the well-being of the State of Colorado. Denver Health is nationally recognized for its integrated system, which makes possible superior management of tax dollars.
